DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA, XX JUNE 2022…
Tanzanians can now lead an easier, more practical and convenient life with LGs recently introduced smart home appliances aimed at complementing a busy, hectic schedule and challenging daily chores.
Ranging from among others refrigerators, microwaves, televisions and washing machines, the smart home appliances seek to digitize Tanzanians’ homes turning them into an interconnected network set up that allows them to control their home appliances remotely and/or by voice demands.
Commenting on the recent innovations and smart home products, LG Electronics East Africa Managing director Sa young Kim said, “the move to digitize living rooms, the kitchen and any other room in Tanzania homes is inspired by our commitment to priorities convenience and comfort for our customers. For all of us to achieve this, there must be enough supply of smart home appliances which we have made available”.
According to a recent survey by LG ThinQ Smart Home Report, 17.3 % of surveyed users selected energy saving as the biggest smart home benefit. Other top benefits mentioned in the survey included ease and convenience to use for TVs and refrigerators and improved performance through Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology for the washers and energy-saving for the air conditioners.
Among the key smart home appliances introduced by LG in the country include the Smart OLED TVs powered by advanced artificial intelligence technologies that make homes smart and convenient. The TVs have inbuilt AI processors that analyze on-screen content to adjust it to the best possible audio, picture and video by the user’s viewing environment.
Besides, the TVs have intelligent voice recognition feature that enables users to control them with simple commands. They also provide a home dashboard that displays the status of other smart home appliances in the home and notifies users of any situation that users should be aware of, such as the fridge door being open and the remaining time for the washing cycle to end.
To help with laundry, LG has stored up Smart washing machines such as the Vivace Washing machine and other (Artificial Intelligence Direct Drive) AI DD™ / DD washing machines which identify users’ laundry’s fabric type and recommend the best laundry course for it. They also troubleshoot minor issues quickly before they escalate.
For users who want to keep foods and fruits fresh for longer periods, LG has confirmed a lineup of smart Refrigerators designed to be connected to the user’s smartphone to control the refrigerator’s temperature, control Express Freeze, and receive any diagnostics of the user refrigerator and food expiration date notifications.
This includes the LG Net 426(L) | Slim French Door Fridge, with InstaView Door-In-Door™ which with a compatible smartphone connected to the LG SmartThinQ™ app, users can remotely adjust temperature settings so the fridge is ready to accommodate a large shopping spree.
Other outstanding features include the modern French door with innovative storage options such as a folding Shelf that can be self-folded for storing taller items and the Slim SpacePlus™ Ice System that is built into the fridge door so users can utilise the whole top shelf.
According to Sa Young Kim, this latest core technology featuring intelligence applications helps households conserve energy, and water and are environmentally friendly while being easily usable, thus promoting key sustainable development goals.
